Lagen Island Resort
Lagen Island Resort is located in Bacuit
Bay in the town of El Nido, northern Palawan, Philippines. Set in a marine
reserve, Lagen Island is surrounded by sheer limestone cliffs and pristine
waters. Its numerous coves are ideal for snorkeling and other marine sports.
Its lush forest is host to more than 70 species of birds, a large number
of which are endemic to Palawan.
The resort has 51 rooms comprised of 18
water cottages, 9 beachfront cottages, 20 forest rooms and 4 suites. The
layout of the facilities and rooms provides different vistas into the gardens,
the cove, or Bacuit Bay.
The verandah of each cottage or room has
protruding balcony seats, reminiscent of the Philippine "banguerr", which
is traditionally built adjacent to the kitchen sink and by the window for
drip-drying dishes.
In each cottage or room are pieces of
furniture made of indigenous Filipino materials. The floors made of antique
wood. All rooms are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning,
IDD telephone, mini bar, and stereo system with CD player.
The restaurant is located at the second
floor of the clubhouse, overlooking the pool, the gardens, and the cove
of Lagen Island. The air-conditioned main dining area is enclosed by full
height sliding doors, and provides access to the terrace, bar, and reception
area. An al fresco style dining area is located at the club house
terrace. Enjoy sumptuous buffet meals of local seafood and a variety of
Filipino, Asian and western specialties.
Marine sports activities include snorkeling,
windsurfing, kayaking, water-skiing, and hobie cat sailing.
